Did you know? The origins of Okonomiyaki (お好み焼き) can be traced back to the Edo period (江戸時代 1603-1868) when it was known as funoyaki (ふのやき), a dish made from flour and water cooked on a teppan (鉄板). Similarly, Takoyaki (たこ焼き) was first popularised in Osaka (大阪) in the 1930s, thanks to street vendor Tomekichi Endo (遠藤留吉) who innovated the recipe to include tako (たこ) 🐙
